Democratic U.S. Senator Mazie K. Hirono is visiting Kauai this week to meet with local veterans and small businesses.
Senator Hirono, a member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, will meet with veterans in Kauai on Wednesday, April 5, and visit local businesses that have received federal aid.
In addition to hearing from Kauai veterans about their priorities and concerns, Senator Hirono will meet with business owners who have received support through the Hawaii Small Business Development Center, which receives federal funding from the US Small Business Administration’s Small Business Development Center program. .
She will discuss federal funds received through the Small Business Administration’s Payroll Protection Program to cover payroll and related expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sen. Hirono will visit the Kaua’i Veterans Center in Lihue on Wednesday morning before visiting the Kaua’i Cookie Market, Bakery and Cafe and the Kaua’i Sweet Shop in Lihue.
