Two professors from the Industrial Engineering Department recently traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina to visit North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. In an effort to recruit graduate students, Professor and Graduate Program Chair Burak Axioglu and Professor and Department Chair Ed Pohl met with undergraduate students.
The group held a presentation with the Industrial Engineering Department at the U of A exploring the opportunities available to undergraduate seniors. While on campus, they participated in the Freshman Innovation Challenge. The main goal of trips of this nature is to recruit some top students from underrepresented schools to the U of A College of Engineering.
About Department of Industrial Engineering: The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas was founded in 1950 and is led by Department Head John L. Imhoff who believes deeply in the global impact of industrial engineering. Today, the department averages over 200 undergraduate students and over 40 doctoral and master’s students.
