Flashes of silver and gold were seen at various shows this season. At Thom Browne, models walked down the runway with golden brows and gold stars on their faces. On Sandy Liang, a silver metallic shade is gently layered on the inner corners and center of the lid for a shimmery finish. And at Altuzarra, makeup artist Diane Kendall paired a strong smoky eye with gold eyeshadow to light up the models’ lids.

Fall and winter are often associated with dark colors like burgundy or forest green, but a few designers chose to go in the opposite direction and combine their runway pieces with an electric color palette. Pink was the color of choice for both Carolina Herrera and Victoria Beckham, the former shading the upper lash line and the latter decorating the lower lash line. At Gucci, models strutted down the runway in soft colors that included blues and reds.

At Prada, Anna Sui and Chet Lo, drama came in the form of over-the-top lashes. For the Prada show, makeup artist Pat McGrath created custom painted ponytails for the models to wear on the runway. McGrath was also behind the make-up for Anna Sui, who covered both the upper and lower set of lashes with bright pink and bright green fringes for a high-octane effect. And on Chet Lo, while the lashes weren’t as colorful, the long, mod-inspired lash extensions still made an impact.

Deep pouts took center stage this season. Rodarte Noir’s lips added to the dramatic atmosphere of the scene. At Sandy Liang and Balenciaga, the models wore different variations of deep rouge that hinted at a lighter makeup look.

Dior and Max Mara chose black velvet ribbons to decorate their low tails with a romantic touch. For Sandy Liang’s show, the bows came in the form of hair clips that were deliberately placed on the length of the models’ hair.
