Another hot topic of conversation online right now is Stüssy x Nike, which is trending on Poizon, China’s version of StockX’s online marketplace. Notably, the range doesn’t include crazy price premiums even though it’s a sold-out collection.
Other highlights of the week include cult streetwear brand Cortez releasing the much-loved Nike Air Max 95s at a secret event in London. To win a pair, fans were tasked with hitting a soccer goal post with a soccer ball. H&M x Mugler

Judgment: Internet reaction to H&M x Mugler was mixed last week, with some consumers expressing dismay at the luxury label’s sale to the fast-fashion retailer. One Twitter user called the collaboration a fashion nova moment, while another said they wouldn’t buy Mugger from H&M.
This collaboration seems to be damaging to Mugler’s brand image, although this has not been the case with other H&M crossovers before. H&M has a long history of collaborating with designers, starting in 2004 with Karl Lagerfeld. Perhaps, if this move makes Mugler look unsustainable, consumers can appreciate how it allows consumers to afford the luxury brand.
Balmain x Puma

Judgment: In the year Following collaborations with Pokemon and Barbie in 2022, Balmain and Puma’s second installation is a reminder of the French house’s Gen-Z-oriented strategy.
The issue with combining high-end brands with low-profile names like accessible sportswear brands like Puma is that the price point tends to turn off the latter’s fans.
For example, the leather varsity jacket is $5,395 (37,470 RMB), about 500 times the price of Puma’s standard design. As a result, users are not entirely optimistic about this collaboration. However, the move will help Balmain gain a foothold in luxury fashion’s thriving sports/streetwear segment. Although the crossing isn’t hugely popular, it’s an investment in Balmain’s street cred.
Diesel x Durex

Judgment: One of the most viral moments of Milan Fashion Week Fall 2023 had to be 200,000 Durex condoms as an installation on the Diesel runway.
The contraceptive brand’s first-ever luxury fashion collaboration, sees Diesel put “sex positivity” into his signature collection.
In the year Attendees of the fall 2023 show will be able to pocket as many condoms as they like after the show ends. Positioning Durex as a fashion accessory under the creative direction of Belgian designer Glenn Martens makes it a household name among the youth, Diesel’s core demographic.
As the world’s most famous condom brand, Durex has cultural capital to support and fashion collaborations are a great vehicle to maintain that.
