Science journalist and Big Think editor-in-chief Alex Berezo put ChatGip to the test with a 10-question microbiology test.

Mr. Berezou, who obtained his doctorate degree in microbiology, pointed out that the questions would be appropriate for the final exam for students studying at the college level. ChatGPT “destroyed it,” Berezow wrote.

In one example, Berezow asked:

“A patient in the emergency department presents with a severe headache and a stiff neck. The doctor orders a spinal tap to collect cerebrospinal fluid. A Gram stain of the CSF shows the presence of Gram negative diplococci. What is the diagnosis?”

To which ChatGPT responded correctly:

According to their data, a gram stain of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shows the presence of gram-negative diplococci, these bacteria are usually oval in shape and occur in pairs. This finding is consistent with a diagnosis of meningitis.

He asked on another occasion.

“What’s the point of Koch’s posts in five words or less?”

To this ChatGPT says:

Set the cause between microbes and diseases.

He took out the word “and” and said in his bitter Chatgpiti, “he nailed it.”
