JW Anderson SS23 at London Fashion Week

JW Anderson’s Spring/Summer 2023 London Fashion Week show took place in London’s Casino Arcade, drawing inspiration from the “parallel world of people trapped inside their computers,” according to the post-show notes.

Presented by a bi-gender cast, the womenswear show combines fashion in its cleanest form, including skirts complete with PET plastic bags, glowing orbs and retro keyboard keys. Delivering an overall sense of inclusion, Anderson’s SS23 was equal parts oversized and shapely, dramatic and subtle, rugged and understated.

What’s most impressive about the show is Anderson’s true dedication to his craft. Effortlessly demonstrating a wide range of techniques from hanging and scrunching to knitting and undoing. A masterclass in designing oversize, the designer’s SS23 display was filled with all of Anderson’s signature looks, and then some.

The show ended with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II wearing a black dress with the year of her birth and death alongside the title “Thank You”.
