If you’re working to qualify for Hyatt elite status before the end of the year, this limited-time offer could be just what you need to reach your goal. The Hyatt Business Credit Card comes with an automatic Discoverer tier (Hyatt’s lowest tier), and to get to the next tier (Explorer), you must accumulate more advanced night credits or base points.

You can qualify for Hyatt status from qualifying nights, points earned, or meetings hosted. Here are the requirements for each calendar year to achieve each Hyatt level:

Keep in mind that this card gives you five tier-qualifying night credits for every $10,000 you spend in a calendar year, so if you’re a big spender, you can earn a tier without even setting foot in a Hyatt hotel.

Adaptive speed limiter

When the Hyatt Business Credit Card first launched last year, it came with a special “Adaptive Earning” feature that gives you bonus points in eligible categories where you spend the most. Cardholders earn 2x points from this list in the main eligible spend categories.

  • Dining
  • Airline tickets are purchased directly with the airline

  • Shipping

The card is set to change this benefit to include only the above. two Categories quarterly after December 31, 2022. But that’s now through December 31, 2023, which means existing and new cardholders can get an extra bonus category for another year.

Otherwise, this card gets the following

  • 4x points at participating Hyatt hotels, SLH properties and Lindblad trips (in addition to the 5 points per dollar you normally earn as a World of Hyatt member)
  • 2x points on fitness club and gym memberships (access experiences and premium bookings until December 2022)
  • 1 point per dollar on all other purchases

Should you consider the new Hyatt Business Credit Card offer?

If the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is on your radar but you were hoping for a higher welcome bonus before applying, the new offer on the card may be disappointing because it doesn’t come with as many bonus points.

However, if getting the Hyatt’s top tier is your goal, this offer is definitely one to consider – especially if you’re close to competing for the next top tier. Hyatt status can be incredibly valuable, especially as a Globalist, which comes with perks that can save you money and make your trip more convenient. These include suite upgrades, Club Lounge access or complimentary breakfast, and 4pm late check-out when available.

Since this is a small business credit card, not everyone qualifies, but even if you don’t have a full-time business or LLC, you may still qualify. Side gigs like driving for Uber, delivering for Instacart, or freelancing can all be considered small businesses.

If you want to earn Hyatt points but don’t have a small business, you may want to consider the Personal The World Of Hyatt Credit Card.

Instead. It has a welcome bonus of 30,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening, and up to 30,000 additional bonus points of 2 points per dollar spent, normally 1 point on purchases up to $15,000. An annual fee of $95 is charged during the first six months of account opening. Here’s our Hyatt credit card review for all the details and a World of Hyatt vs. Hyatt Business Card comparison to see which is best for you.

And if you want to earn Hyatt points but don’t care about earning perks at Hyatt hotels, a card that earns transferable Chase Ultimate Rewards points is probably a better bet. When you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred® card, Chase Sapphire Reserve®, or Ink Business Preferred® credit card, you can transfer Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt (along with 13 other Chase airline and hotel partners) at a 1:1 ratio.
