When you think of Giancarlo Stanton, you think of home runs. You’d think he’d rattle deep hitters and opposing hitters off the walls of Yankee Stadium. This is the effect that Stanton has when he lives on the battery box. So when he stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded, New York Yankees fans were expecting a big hit.
Unfortunately, fans didn’t get to see Stanton’s classic bombshell. Instead, the Yankees hitter sliced the ball into left field and scored two of his teammates on a single. Not a home run, but it sure got the job done for a team in need of a hit streak. (On Fox Sports: MLB)

Not that Stanton’s single didn’t hold any power. In fact, the Yankees hitter swung the ball hard with an exit velocity of 117.7 mph. If Stanton had hit that ball a little cleaner, we could have seen it fly out of the stadium and into the stands.

Giancarlo Stanton missed the second half of the season due to injury. In that time, the Yankees have begun to dip in their performance. A combination of horrendous injury woes and the coldness of their hitters has resulted in an embarrassing record over the past few games. However, it seems that they are getting healthy at the right time.
With the power hitting of Stanton and Aaron Judge, the Bronx Bombers are ready to strike fear into the hearts of their opponents. Hopefully the two wins over the Mets in the Subway Series will take them back to the heights they’ve already reached.
