Former NXT wrestler Dexter Lumis returned to WWE Raw this week, but in a way you wouldn’t expect.

First, here’s a recap of the game results:

– Seth Rollins beat Angelo Dawkins by pinfall

– Kevin Owens defeated Ezekiel by ref stop in less than a minute

– Finn Balor defeated Rey Mysterio after the coup

— Dakota Kai and IYO SKY defeated Dana Brooke and Tamina to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Dakota Kai and SKY took on Tamina and Dana Brooke for the Women’s Tag Team Championship on Monday Night Raw.

– Bobby Lashley retains the United States title against Ciampa after putting his opponent in a heartlock for the win.

— Omos defeated two domestic rivals in approximately two minutes

– Dolph Ziggler defeated Chad Gable by pinfall

— AJ Styles defeated The Miz by pinfall in a No-DQ match

Moment of the Night: Dexter Lumis’ debut plays in the background

This started in the background of the promo when Dudrop and Nicky ASS are seen next to a crashed car.

The shot appeared unconscious at first, but the next time the car was seen, it was being loaded onto a trailer (again in the background of the interview). The security around the car gets a tip-off about something and they all give chase.

This culminated in the main event where security released a man found to be Lumis in the crowd.

Rewarding the audience with attention to backstory is not a typical WWE move. Triple H, however, has proven in the past that he enjoys teaming up with various production facilities to enhance his shows.

For example, there were a few times during NXT TakeOver where he put on the end of show logo to signal the end of time – then something big would happen to further enhance the spectacle.

Seeing him introduce Lumis in the background in various episodes had the same vibe.

It also made viewers want to tune in next week for more of the story. That’s what Raw needs more of.

Additional Highlights:

Kevin Owens brutalized Ezekiel and ended his match early on Monday Night Raw

Kevin Owens brutalized Ezekiel and ended his match early on Monday Night Raw

Kevin Owens wasted no time in absolutely brutalizing Ezekiel on Monday Night Raw, finally boiling over after weeks of tension.

Kevin Owens destroys Ezekiel in the ring, then cuts the killer promo and it’s the Raw KO show again.

Under Triple H’s leadership in NXT, Owens was a beast.

The prospect of seeing a version of that character again on Raw has fans salivating at the prospect.

This was a good start to get there.

Here are the complete brackets for the Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament.

One notable entry is Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark from NXT. It will be interesting to see how they fare in their main roster debuts.

Bobby Lashley won the United States title from Ciampa on Raw WWE on FOX

Bobby Lashley won the United States title from Ciampa on Raw WWE on FOX

Ciampa had a chance at Raw Gold on Monday Night when he faced off against the Almighty Bobby Lashley for the United States title.

Lashley may have defeated Ciampa to retain the United States Championship, but they both got out of the match.

Ciampa going toe-to-toe with the former world champion and even getting a few nearfalls on him made him look like a tough contender.

This will help him in the long run more than what he was doing before.

As for Lashley, he has been seen establishing himself as the reigning champion on the show by unleashing new offense.

If the plan was to elevate the importance of the United States Championship on Raw, he did a great job of accomplishing that.
