Denver, Colo. – Azusa Pacific opened the final day of the Premier Challenge with a straight-set sweep of Central Missouri, giving the Cougars a 4-3 overall record on the season.

How it happened: The first set saw seven games and a few lead changes, but in the end, it was the Cougars who took control of the game. Trailing 11-9 in the second, Azusa Pacific would take eight unanswered points to flip the set and finish ahead 17-11. Once again, Radicich was at the center of a Cougar run as she tallied three more kills during the period. Moments later, the Cougars would go on another unanswered run as Azusa Pacific built a 19-13 lead to a 24-13 score. After the Jennies got a point back, Jorgensen clinched the game with a kill for a 25-14 victory.
Azusa Pacific jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third set to close out the match, and the Cougars would hold on to the overall lead. While the Genies can hang around and keep it close, the Azusa Pacific cushions at two or more points. With the score at 23-20, Jorgenson sealed the deal for the Cougars as she hit back-to-back kills for the 24th and 25th points.
In numbers: The Cougars posted the second-highest hitting percentage of the campaign as they finished at 31% (44 kills on 105 attempts with 11 errors). At the net, Azusa Pacific matched its team-high six total blocks for the fourth time this season. With a 3-0 win over the Cougars this morning, Azusa Pacific won its first four games of the season in straight fashion for the first time since the 2010 season.
