Morganton, W. V. – Vantage Ventures is making its mark on Morgan.

The WVU campus-based effort, part of the John C. Chambers School of Business and Economics, hopes to become a mid-Atlantic version of Silicon Valley. Vantage Ventures currently has 29 startups, from Pure Energy, Biotech to Artificial Intelligence.

Ventage Ventures CEO Sarah Billler said the organization will provide a career, relationship and space to turn ideas into profitable and solve problems or add value to life.

Four months before the outbreak, Vantage Ventures opened, and Biller said it was even more impressive.

“We are open and In March 2020, COVID really closed the world, ”said Billler.

Using the resources and experience of the WVU team and beyond, to provide start-up companies with insights into business, marketing, and other non-essential activities in order to continue effective business.

“To be a supportive structure for individuals living in the state who see West Virginia or West Virginia as a great place to build a technology company,” Billler said.

Bill’s team’s goal is to create a wave of new entrepreneurs, which will bring good jobs to the state. The team has a bench for in-depth graduates, community leaders and professionals to advise beginners.

“That community is made up of individuals from the state of West Virginia, but who have good industry experience or are self-employed,” Billler said.

A wide range of experts provide a stable source of information about the realities of the business world. Maintaining a business and customer base can be more difficult than the initial stage.

“We want to attract customers and increase capital,” Bill said. “This is a very important task when you are a primary company because you are not eligible for a regular bank loan.”

One of the first additions to Vantage Ventures is the success story now – Iconic Air. West Virginia natives Kyle Gillis and James Carnes use their love for drones to measure emissions from software used in the oil and gas industry. Iconic Air reported sales of $ 1 million for 2021.
