But some mistakes are so unusual that they raise the question of whether the journey was ruined from the beginning?
Reporter Natalie Compton, for example, wanted to sleep in a camp van in Hawaii to test the #VanLife. But the plan was flawed. She did not check to see if the van had air conditioning.
Compton commented: “I thought it was a gift.
She spent two days sweating on her clothes, driving around Maui, drinking and getting frustrated at work appointments. She said it was an accident but not a total loss.
“You really get a better travel history than a good one,” Compton says. “’Everything went well, we had a great time!’ No one wants to hear it! You need Blogger Real.
As the weekend approached, we asked the postal service to tell us about their bad holiday. Like Compton, many had a good story to tell – and some long family jokes and memories they now love.
Responses adjusted for length and clarity.
“Bed bugs have brought us all to an end.”
Harvest Gonzalez, 44, Portland, Ore.
When I was 10, in 1987, my father took me and my sister to Disneyland. The plan was to meet my uncle and uncles at the hotel where we were staying in Anaheim, and we all enjoyed a three-day vacation together. Everything was swimming, and on our first night there, one of my cousins leaned back on the plane and we were returning from dinner to the hotel. Another cousin went to Annahem with a slight stomach ache and spent the day beating the train in the toilet. The next morning I was determined to raise my voice when my uncle threw it into the trash, and the next morning I said, “I can’t believe we’re finally here!” I shouted. At the door of Disneyland and then immediately bend over and throw up.
When my cousin, who was supposed to be at the top of the trip, started throwing, my other cousin and I tried to support her and put her head in the garbage can so that she wouldn’t get at least a puck. All over the magical kingdom. We managed to get through the rest of the trip without worrying too much, but my sister started scratching as soon as we got home, and my dad picked it up as soon as she was done! Bed bugs eventually invaded us all. This whole adventure has become part of family history, and fortunately, right now, we are screaming with laughter, not fear.
‘She owes a trip to Paris’
Lily Van Bergen, 18, Forest, V.
My mother and I were on a day trip to Lyon, France to see the city. . We had to cancel all trips to Paris, where I was staying, and I had to travel abroad for two days on my own for two days.
Fortunately, I spoke French fluently, and I was able to translate and provide some information, but for the most part, I was completely scared. Sometimes I do not speak French fluently. It was a crazy experience, and when we finally returned to Paris for the VRBO rental, I could not be more relieved, but we had to return the next day. The whole thing was a real blow to our journey. Now my mother always likes to say that she owes a trip to Paris, but for me it is a great story to tell, and I have learned a lot about myself and my abilities.
‘Small Kitchen Fire’
Corrine Melissari, 38, Alexandria, V.
When I was 12 or 13, I, my mother, and two older aunts and uncles rented a house in Jersey Shore for about a week. I look forward to spending time at the beach! Within a few years after my mother and stepfather were divorced, I did not go to the beach for a long family vacation. We started living the first day and decided to get a pizza that night. We had some leftovers, and the next day when one of my aunts decided to reheat a piece in the microwave, she had trouble picking up the foil. This really created sparks and small kitchen fires.
We called the property manager and the owner of the owner’s college quickly came to assess the damage and came to our aid. When he arrived, I was very sad, seeing the look of fear on his face, “How can I explain this to Mom and Dad ?!” I’m thinking.
He had no replacement, so we spent the week without a microwave, but at least we had a stove. This was a joke when my family and I were always together and ordering pizza.
‘Our reservation is gone’
Laurel Bergdal, 20, Berkeley, California
When I was 16, I went on a two-week expedition to Fiji with my school. We were sent to gather information on the establishment of their second largest island, Vanuatu National Park. The night before the trip, our boss received a notice that the reservation was “lost.” So eight hours before the airport, they had to struggle to find a place for the 16 of us. It was a four-hour drive to the airport and we weren’t sure we would succeed.
We arrived at the airport and were picked up at a check-in desk and transferred to the airport opposite the airport. Not only did we have to run 40 pounds[40 kg]of luggage through San Francisco International Airport, but we had to run safely, as we might miss our departure time. They beat us quietly, but when we boarded, we realized that they had overpowered the plane, and the two of us boarded. The two did not join the group for a whole day.
The airline lost half of our luggage, and we had to travel without it. During our taxi from LAX to Fiji, someone had a heart attack and the flight attendants were looking for a psychiatrist. Luckily he was one of those on the ship, and the man came out in time. We are now two hours late and have an 11-hour flight to Fiji.
For two weeks everything was fine but when we got back our flight was delayed due to bad weather, and we were stuck at the airport. Most of us had a mysterious stomach ache that kept us sick for 24 hours, including myself. I remember lying on the floor, wrapped in my sleeping bag, very sick, crying because I wanted to go home. When we arrived in San Francisco, I was so ready to go home that I got out of the airport at 3:00 AM and returned home on a four-hour drive home! It was such a wild experience, but I will return to Fiji with a complete heartbeat.
“We returned home two days late and very poor.”
Jeremy Rachlin, 42, Brooklynville, MD.
When we arrived at the KLM Balcony in Amsterdam to see our return flight to the United States, I left my laptop bag, laptop, and yes, and boarded the train.
It was Friday at noon. Uber travels to the consulate, crazy can be taken with a suitcase on a cobblestone street, a passport photo taken, the money returned to the consulate, a bribe to the local cafe owner, a furious call to our neighbor to break into our house and our child’s birth certificate We obtained a temporary passport for the Consulate and after hundreds of dollars (and $ 150,000 for a blue flight for a missed flight). To fly home the next day and return tickets.
As we were about to end our relationship in Paris, our parents found us at Dulles International Airport with our spare car keys, and we returned home two days later and found out that our air conditioner had broken down during our summer vacation. At the time, our 8-year-old son was a soldier. On the plus side, we had to stay with Woodie Harrison in Amsterdam. And whenever my family is upset with me during the holidays, they have a constant time for me.
