Travel delays begin Monday at the Stateline Events Center

STATLINE, Nev. – Travel delays are expected next week due to construction at the Tahoe South Events Center in Stateline, officials announced Friday.

Construction will begin Monday, Sept. 26, on a sewer improvement project that will include overhead utility lines, new sidewalks and improvements to existing sewer lines along the U.S. Highway 50 casino corridor. The project is expected to last until Oct. 15, when the drilling season ends in Lake Tahoe.

Motorists should use alternate routes during business hours, Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Signs will be posted showing suggested alternative routes.

Left hand turns are prohibited during construction hours. Westbound vehicles on the Casino Core will not be permitted to turn left into the Laub Building/Harrah’s parking lots and eastbound vehicles will not be permitted to turn left into the Harveys entrance.

The effects of travel

Motorists should wait in the eastbound lanes of US 50, Nos. 1 and 2, and the center turn lane Monday through Thursday from 5 am – 3:30 pm through October 13.

Traffic will be detoured eastbound on the No. 1 westbound lane through Casino Core. Traffic control will begin at California (near the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel) and extend to the Friday station. The Lab building and Harrah’s entrance on US 50 will be closed indefinitely. Businesses served by Bally Street or Park Lake. No left hand turns are allowed in the construction zone.

October 3 – October 15: Expect full closures of the northeastbound US 50 lane curb (No. 2 lane) and the southwest bound US 50 lane curb (No. 2 lane). Eastbound traffic will be detoured on Bally Highway from 5:00am – 3:30pm on Thursday and will continue through the station on Friday. Westbound traffic control begins at Hard Rock and extends to the Harveys entrance.

October 3 – October 15: Expect full eastbound lane closures on Lake Parkway between the US 50/Lake Parkway intersection and the Bally driveway on Lake Parkway.
