Travel agencies may request a national park service to facilitate the booking process

A large travel industry is calling on the United States Department of Homeland Security and the National Park Service to improve tourism booking in national parks.

A letter from the American Travel Association states that 297 domestic and 91 international travel organizations are requesting short registration windows and inconsistent procedures to assist international travelers and guides.

The letter was sent to Homeland Security Secretary Dib Haland and National Park Service Director Chuck Sams, who suggested that the booking be approved 10 to 12 months ago. Companies also require a consistent booking system in parks that require more tickets.

The bookings were mainly implemented as part of efforts to curb congestion at national parks during the epidemic, but can be difficult for international visitors.

“The national parks are great attractions for foreign visitors,” said Tory Emerson Barnes, executive vice president of the US Travel Association.

A.D. By 2019, 35 percent of the 327 million national park visitors are foreigners. Along with the expectation that global travel costs will recover by 2025, the companies believe it is time to speed up the booking process.

The US Travel Association and its partners believe that any action taken to expand local booking systems should be discussed with voters, including introductory communities, tour operators and transportation providers.
