The Prince of Wales, Prince William and Kate will travel to Wales soon

Earlier today, Prince William had a telephone conversation with the First Minister of Wales in his first official engagement as Prince of Wales. Prince of Wales is not a title William inherited when his father reigned. Instead, King Charles made Prince William and Kate Middleton Prince and Princess of Wales two days ago.

Speaking to First Minister of Wales Mark Drakeford, Prince William “expressed his respect for His Majesty the King and the Princess of Wales for being asked to serve the people of Wales. They do so with humility and great respect,” Kensington Palace said in a statement.

During their conversation, Prince William spoke about his and Kate, Princess of Wales’ deep love for their country. William and Kate started their family in Anglesey, Wales, where Prince William worked as an RAF search and rescue pilot. Kate made her first royal engagement in Anglesey in February 2011.

New Zealanders look forward to traveling to Wales soon, Prince William told First Minister Drakeford. There is no word yet on their next trip. The royal couple have visited Wales several times over the years, but this will be their first trip as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

William and Kate were made the Prince and Princess of Wales by King Charles III in their first speech as monarchs of England. King Charles took his duties as Prince of Wales very seriously, and was the longest serving Prince of Wales in history.
