The Fashion Week event celebrates regional talent in style.

After a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Kedah Fashion Week (KFW) is back to highlight the diverse and innovative Southeast Asian fashion scene.

The fashion show held at Aman Central in Alor Setar featured 12 famous brands, 16 famous designers and eight revolutionary local designers.

The famous Natasha Hudson Fashion Week kicks off at 3pm with a show showcasing the work of local fashion designers, followed by a runway show at 5pm.

Participating lifestyle brands include Ikahfa, Qaira Hijab, Fana Couture, HLA, Parkson, NuWave, Teva, Birkenstock, Studio, Steve Madden, Swarovski and Sembonia.

The three-day event featured 31 runway shows featuring apparel including sportswear.

Shoes and jewelry are also featured.

The talent line includes renowned designers Hirankrit Pattaraboriboonkul from Thailand and Edwin Ao from the Philippines.

Among the names that have announced their collections are Eugene Chow (Ntrovert), Hui Homun (Homun Hui), Jeremy Wong Zi Jin (Jr), Lie Hui Ying (Elhi), Liren (Liren), Jia Wen (Kappuse), Shawn Wong (SH WN ) and Tan Wan Yee (Thewomanofyee).

The event was highlighted by a lively exchange of ideas among the enthusiastic audience.

They included VIP guests, media partners, sponsors, celebrity models and fashion influencers.

Among the VIP guests were Miss Global International 2022 Sandra Lim, popular singer Eday and Kedah celebrity Rosita Che Wan.

The audience and shoppers also enjoyed a mesmerizing performance by guest artistes.

At the fashion show gala night, Anugerah Jura Lagu 36 (AJL) singers Marsha Milan Londoh and Kai Bahar won the men’s night, while AJL31 vocalist Dayang Nurfaizah performed in the grand finale.

The event closed with a special tribute to designer Eric Chong, the “KFW22 Fashion Icon” who has been in the industry for 33 years.

Bellevue Group managing director Datuk Sonny Ho said in a press conference earlier that the event will stimulate the region’s fashion industry.

In addition to organizing the fashion week, Aman Central also held a “Your Bullet Train to KFW22” contest in collaboration with Sony Pictures Malaysia. The winners not only got to enjoy KFW 2022 but also the movie Bullet Train.
