The US Travel Association has announced the 2022 Lottery and Mercury Award winners and State Tourism Director of the Year at its annual Educational Seminar for Tourism Organizations (ESTO).
In the year August 6-9 in Grand Rapids, Mich. The conference included awards in 31 categories for “excellence and innovation in destination marketing and inspiring travel, a critical component of the continued recovery of the travel industry,” the US Travel Association said.

“Each year at ESTO, we are proud to celebrate outstanding examples of destination marketing at the local, regional and state levels,” said Nan Margand Beauvois, ESTO, US Travel Association General Manager.
“Congratulations to this year’s Destiny and Mercury Award winners and finalists for their exceptional creativity and effectiveness in travel promotion.”
Visit North Carolina was awarded the Mercury People’s Choice Award, and Visit Jackson was awarded the Destiny People’s Choice Award.
North Carolina Tourism Director Whit Tuttle has been named State Tourism Director of the Year by the National Council of Tourism Directors.
The judging panel included marketing experts from organizations such as JPMorgan Chase, Tourism Cares and Hylink Digital Solutions.
