Lubbock, Texas – Despite holding a 17-6 shot advantage, Texas Tech fell to Arizona, 1-0, Sunday at the John Walker Football Complex.
After the two teams combined for only two shots on goal in the opening 45 minutes, the Wildcats (2-0-0) scored the game-winner on a goal-line pass from Maddie Coleno’s Megan Chelf.
“It’s a bitter pill to swallow,” the head coach Tom Stone he said. “A 17-6 shooting advantage is not a good story line. That’s how well Arizona played. Credit to them for holding the ball, making things difficult for us and connecting well. It’s disappointing because that’s a game we should have won.”
