Information Technology: Project Delivery

Terracon is recognized for Terracon Compass, a real-time/just-in-time project delivery tool that allows customers to quickly access and visualize specific information to make timely and informed decisions on their projects. Terracon Compass benefits include tracking project milestones, interactive GIS viewing of project site information and findings, access to uploaded development and construction plans, and access to hundreds of publicly available GIS data layers to view project site conditions. Compass improves Terracon and client project team collaboration with early and final access, visualization and download.

Social Contribution:

Since its inception, the Terracon Foundation has been recognized for awarding nearly $4 million to support education, the built and natural environment, and equity. In the year 2022 was the company’s biggest philanthropy to date, with more than $480,000 awarded in grants, matching gifts and scholarships – all won by Terracon employee-owners.

CCBJ Awards

Technological importance: Wind power infrastructure

Terracon’s engineering team has partnered with Power Generation and Transmission (PG&T) leadership to design the next generation of wind foundations and is recognized for meeting the challenges of climate change. The GripTerra pole foundation is a sustainable choice for wind power. Using patent-pending designs, Terracon’s Pier and Anchor foundations install faster and with less concrete and excavation than traditional spread-foot foundations.

Industrial Leadership: Disaster Response

Terracon was recognized for its disaster leadership before and after the hurricane hit Louisiana on August 29, 2021. In the days leading up to landfall, Terracon’s disaster management team was working diligently to anticipate customer needs and strengthen their resilience. Before the storm hit, several processes were underway, including estimating the storm’s damage path, geographically locating tools and equipment, assessing available qualified personnel, and preparing customers. The day after the landslide, team members assessed the damage to Terracon offices and Terracon staff housing and met the immediate needs of customers and partners. A total of 41 Terracon employees from 19 Terracon offices provided a variety of critical services.

The 2022 EBJ and CCBJ Awards will be presented live and in person at the EBJ Business Achievement Awards Banquet at Local Industry Summit XXI March 22-24, 2023 in San Diego along with the CCBJ Business Achievement, Lifetime Achievement and 50-Year Company Awards.
