Switchbot Bot pushes all the right keys in your smartphone because you are too lazy to get up and push yourself. It has a small electric motor and a hook that can hold app-controlled keys. But is it really flexible and listens to the likes of Alexa, Siri, Google Assistant and others? We have tried Switchbot Bot and here we are thinking about it!

Price and availability
You can order Switchbot Bot from Amazon at MSRP for $ 39, although it can now be purchased on Amazon for $ 29. A single boot will only accept an integrated battery, adhesive pad and some extra pad keys if they are too far away (let’s talk, we are very lazy people).
As part of Amazon Prime Day, you get a 10 percent discount. Since Switchbot saw its price drop in July 2022, you can pick it up for $ 29 as mentioned earlier. Note: To use Smart House, you will also need a $ 39 Switchbot Hub.

Design and form condition
Switchbot design is simple and practical. The small box measures 4.3 x 3.7 x 2.5 cm (WxDxH) and has a small arm extending through an electric motor. The inclination angle here goes up to 135 degrees. On the back of Switchbot’s there is a pre-installed adhesive pad, which you must use next to the buttons you want to install. Additional adhesive pads are included in the package.

Small and intelligent.
- Available in black and white.
- Finds when installed automatically.
What I don’t like is crying
- The pressure mechanism is not very powerful.
- Extension angle cannot be adjusted in toggle mode.
- Rather, it is a cry.
Switchbot is available in black and white shades. For each color option, it has a small rotating arm responsible for pushing the buttons. When pushed by a single button or Smart Home command, this extends up to 135 degrees and allows you to access most of the buttons in the review. As for my coffee maker, I had to press an additional sticker that made the button a little thicker. Two of them are included in the box.
According to the manufacturer, the weight of the switchboard is listed at 20 ounces, or 0.56 kilograms. That’s enough for most digital buttons, so it should be enough when it comes to coffee makers, washing machines, cupboards, fans and more. You need to make a few attempts and mistakes before you can hit the right combination to switch. Lighting switches, for example, have no problem, but Switchbot is not strong enough to handle many plugs.
By default, the Switchbot boot pushes your key until it feels a little bit of resistance and returns to its original position. Alternatively, you can switch the boot to switch mode, it will continue to stay in extended mode. You can also use the built-in adhesive pads and cycles to push the modes back and forth. Unfortunately, the extension angle cannot be adjusted.
iOS and Android apps
To use SwitchbotBot, you first need to install the Switchbot app on your smartphone. It’s free for both iOS and Android platforms.

Beautiful app design.
- Flawless layout and operation-
What I don’t like is crying
- Occasional translation errors.
- The online store in the app can be implemented better.
- Location request.
To set up and control your Switchbot boot, you first need the Switchbot app. Available for IOS and Android, and I tried it on the iPhone 13 mini. Although there were some translation errors for non-English users, the app was easy to understand, visually appealing and reliable.
Like most modern home apps, you need to set up a digital home, including rooms for their own devices. In addition to Bot, the manufacturer’s Swichbot ecosystem includes smart bulbs, smart thermostats, humidifiers and surveillance cameras. How do I know this? Interestingly, Switchbot has integrated the online store directly into the app. The offers are limited to one tab, but I find it a little annoying in everyday life.
You will need to set up an account to use all features, which makes sense due to storage settings. Another important feature is how the Switchbot app already allows “scenes”. These are the practices that follow the IF-THEN principle. For example, if you touch the NFC trigger on your phone, the coffee machine will automatically turn on. Alternatively, you can use other modern home systems with this method.
Modern home communication
You need a Switchbot hub for a modern home connection, and for a simple reason, single bots only support Bluetooth connection, making them more energy efficient. Communication through the center is easy and safe.
My favorite ret-
- Once again, flawless setup and recognition with other voice assistants.
-
Thanks to the solution, a longer battery life.
What I don’t like is crying
- Smart home connection only with hub purchase.
You can also connect your small keyboards to other smart home systems via Switchbot Hub, which is supported by Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri Shortcut, Samsung Smart stuff, Clova and IFTTT. Using shortcuts, I was able to make my coffee maker smarter by placing a coffee key on one side of the home screen and creating a Siri command on the other.
It is frustrating at first that you need this center for $ 49 on Amazon. At the same time, Bot’s replaceable CR-2 button ensures that the battery lasts up to 600 days. Clock switches are possible without a smart home connection via the Switchbot app.
Final Judgment
In general, Switchbot boot can make many ‘dumb’ devices ‘smart’ with a little creativity. Once you achieve this goal, control and key installations will work safely. Unfortunately, it is only possible to connect to the smart home ecosystem by purchasing a center, but the boot has a long battery life of up to 600 days.
If you have a handheld device that you do not want to replace with a modern alternative, the Switchbot Bot comes with the most recommended!
