Phoenix – Summer is here and the holiday weekend is over, it may take some time to update your driver’s license or ID card to Arizona Travel ID. The last day of May 3, 2023, is not far off. Take time during the summer break and avoid the last minute before you know it.

Arizona Travel ID driver’s license or identification card as well as a federal compliance certificate at federal TSA airport checkpoints and other prohibited federally protected facilities.

What does this mean for Arizonians?

Effective May 3, 2023, the Federal REAL Identification Act requires anyone using more than a standard driver’s license, such as an Arizona passport or passport, to pass through TSA checkpoints for domestic flights at airports.

Travel IDs still available?

yes. Make an appointment at AZMVDNow.gov to get your travel ID. Travel ID applicants must provide proof of identity, Arizona residency, and social security number. For full certificates and documents that meet these requirements, visit azdot.gov/TravelID.

How is travel identification different?

Arizona is one of 37 states that offer driver’s license certification to residents. .
