Big news in the dog days of August: Cynthia is buying a blue hippo. This is part of the Senate’s design: it will continue to win the race. One of the focus of the current administration is to grow market share. And shopping e-tailer is the easiest way to do this. However, there are high customer acquisition costs to be paid for Google and Facebook. Companies such as Google, Facebook and others have become huge and their online ad spending is high, putting a burden on the competition. Rob sees this as a troubling sign at a higher level.

The deal will contribute to the long-term sustainability of the Blue Nile brand. But when so many businesses merge under one big umbrella, people get nervous. Victoria wonders how the Blue Nile can form under Cygnet. It is currently unclear where the brand fits among the other jewelry brands that Signet owns.

Victoria Blue Nile recalls one of the most exciting things he has done in recent years – 10 x 10 collaboration with De Beers and Color Designers. It wants to be a brand that speaks to people, not “Amazon jewelry.”

Themes in autumn fashion
Victoria has been researching the latest fall fashion trends and reporting on JCK’s Special Report newsletter. Here are a few aspects she’s keeping in mind to help inform jewelers what they want to stock. A surprising yet adorable trend gaining steam is animal-inspired jewelry. Although this has been going on for thousands of years, there are times when the theme comes up again. Victoria spoke to an expert on this category: Marion Fassel, jewelry historian and founder and editorial director of Adventurine. She worked on Beautiful creatures Exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. According to Facil, the two animals that come out again and again? Snakes and butterflies.

Snakes, which can represent wisdom and eternal love, have a beautiful shape that is suitable for decoration. Butterfly appeared in many jewelry collections this year. Symbolizing rebirth and transformation, it resonates especially now as we begin to emerge from the pandemic. Victoria described some of the collections she saw that featured interesting creatures as pendants. Sales of animal-inspired pieces are on the rise. Since many zodiac signs are animals, the zodiac trend contributes to the popularity of the animal theme.

1980s jewelry is coming back
Although it may come as a surprise, jewelry from the 90s can now technically be considered vintage. And according to many property jewelry experts, the jewelry aesthetic of the 80s and 90s is making a comeback. One reason is that these pieces are entering the market. But it’s more than that. Victoria described the “golden 40-year reign.” A wave of nostalgia comes over pop culture and fashionistas in their childhood. As a result, the fashion era returns after some time.

The power dress is making a comeback, complete with big, beautiful, bold jewels. Although it may not go with the economy, the trend is still in our area. How does it translate into jewelry? Big chains (think Madonna-level piles), big dramatic hoops and other big, bold patterns. Even if Gen Z doesn’t remember the ’80s, they might gravitate toward these looks, too. The thing about jewelry trends is that they always come back.

Other styles and trends that are coming into their own are turquoise, evil eye and other protective symbols. A single “wow” piece can start to take the place of the sweet layers. As prices rise, alloyed metals also become more popular. There’s an amazing mix of jewelry out there right now, and Victoria hopes people will take advantage of it.
