Minneapolis — A family-owned saddle shop that has been in business for more than a century in Minneapolis is closing.

On Sunday, Schatzlein’s saddle shop on Lake Street announced “with a heavy heart” that the shop will close after 115 years in business, saying it was time for some family members to retire.

“It’s been an incredible journey. We’d love to be open eventually, but it’s not possible at this time. What’s gotten us through this long is our dear and loyal customers who have shopped at Shetzlin for a long time.” said a Facebook post. “We will be sad to see the store close and we will miss each and every one of you and we know you will too.”
