BISMARCK, ND – US Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) joins Jackie DeAngelis on Fox Business Maria Batiromo Wall Street to discuss President Joe Biden’s campaign speech on Thursday night. An excerpt and full video are below.
In Partisan Campaign Address:
“My reaction as I watched him play: I guess that’s a little bit more of a comfort zone for Joe Biden—angry and loud and obnoxious. But it was very unpresidential to say the least and disappointing in many ways. You have already pointed out [out] He was going to be a great composer and he left not only on Thursday night, but the day after his graduation. I just thought that – what I would call a very unhealthy obsession with the man before him – was a sign of a high degree of insecurity and, in fact, some desperation. I don’t know why the leader of the free world, the president of the United States, allows his predecessor to spend so much time in his head. It was a special speech for me, but it was a campaign speech that was disguised as a military exercise.
I think if they were desperate, they probably felt the need to do something big. It looked more like a Batman movie opening than a presidential address, so it was disappointing in that sense. By the way, I don’t think it raises it at all, but I think it actually lowers his standing with the American people. Now that he’s taking the military and using it as a political backdrop, the things that Donald Trump has accused him of doing, [and] The hypocrisy of this union with the great distributor, which has become obvious. They have recognized that they are on the verge of dumping Haile Mariam in the hope of surviving two months from the next mid-term election and are trying their best. I think he’s a little more comfortable with that kind of message than with some more important policy message.
“This is part of a strategy to distract from the policies and the harm to the American people and somehow put the blame on the front of everything and the MAGA Republicans. You have the incredible luxury of having a majority in the House and Senate when your party is president, and because of his omnipotent power, he can make this economy $2.5-3 trillion. They flooded him with more free money than dollars. [The] Economy was already high. The demand was already greater than the supply and they increased the demand. Even with this week’s jobs numbers, which are yet to be fully analyzed, we’re struggling to get through all of that, but they’re all pretty flat. Productivity, which worries me more than anything else, is going down and we’re going through a recession with this inflation. These are the things. [Joe Biden] He doesn’t want us to think about it, the crime-ridden streets and the influx of illegal immigrants.
“I think they’re hoping that they can change the narrative in a way that they can’t change what’s going on in people’s lives. You can’t convince the American people that they won’t hurt you with all the marketing and backstory and movie collections in the world. Every time they fill up their gas or buy groceries or try to buy a house for crying out loud, they know they’re hurting. I think we have seen the worst inflation ever.
