atlanta – Tank Bigsby, Derek Hall And John Samuel Shenker Auburn was represented at SEC Media Days on Thursday. Dressed to the nines, they spent time walking around the college football hall from room to room talking to various members of the media. It was an opportunity to promote Auburn football and promote their brand.
It was fitting that each player represented their school in the first round because when given the chance to leave during the season, all three chose Auburn.
After the bowl game, Hale told his mother he was gone. He had the goal of turning pro and entering his name in the NFL draft. But after sitting down, he thought better of it. First of all he wanted to come back and graduate, get his degree. He also wanted to play with his brothers one more time. And he wanted to give back to Auburn and give the fans one more season.
“If I had to make the decision again, I would definitely go back for 2022,” Hall said. “I’m ready to go to work, we’re ready to get this thing on the road.”
Bigsby wasn’t eligible for the draft yet, but he could put his name on the transfer portal and play elsewhere in 2022. There isn’t a team in the country that wouldn’t happily take their star running back. But Bigsby kept his original commitment.

“When I came to Auburn my freshman year of 2020, I felt like this school was different,” he said. “After my high school, it’s the same. It’s a different program, and you have to be a different person to be in this program. A lot of people don’t like us, a lot of people talk bad about us, but at the end of the day, we have to come to play.
“That’s why I came to Auburn, and that’s why I’m still at Auburn. I feel like we’re going to do what we need to do this year and get the job done.”
In the year That will be six years for Schenker, who retired in 2017 as a freshman and was given an extra year of eligibility due to Covid-19. He could have simply walked away and tested the NFL waters. He could have hung the clutch completely. But he came back like the others.
All three players are back to do something special this season.
“We’re on top, that’s our push,” Shenker said. “People can say what they want, but they’re not in the locker room. They’re not in practice every day. We believe that what we do in the offseason is motivation and positivity when we’re ready to do it. Fall.”
‘Best atmosphere in college football’
At SEC Media Days, Georgia linebacker Nolan Smith had a quick response when asked what was the toughest stadium he had to play in. Jordan-Hare Stadium.
“When you go to Jordan-Hare, you better be ready to play football,” Smith said.
The atmosphere at Jordan-Hare Stadium impressed opposing players, coaches, fans and even some members of the national media. ESPN’s Ryan McGee traveled with SEC Nation and attended two Auburn games last year.
“It’s the loudest stadium I’ve ever been in. And I’ve been in all of them,” McGee said. “I still have earplugs in my bag from my NASCAR days, and there are only two stadiums where I take my headphones out. Jordan-Hare is at the top of the list.”
“Anytime you come to Jordan-Hare, it’s crazy,” the Auburn linebacker added. Derek Hall. “It’s the best atmosphere in college football right now, and I think it’s going to be around for a long time. Having that home game experience, having everybody around you, everybody swag surfing going into the fourth quarter is special. You really have to be there to see it.
