Hundreds of RBS associates across seven states participated in a one-day sustainability-focused volunteer event. More than $40,000 has been awarded to non-profit partners who are not concerned about environmental protection.

Scarborough, MaineAlongside the South Portland Land Trust, RBS volunteers helped maintain and improve the South Branch and Clark Pond trails. Some have also spent time at Pleasant Hill Preserve – improving handicap access on boardwalks, removing invasive plants and restoring habitat, and at Fuller Farm Preserve, volunteers move logs, build bog bridges and remove invasive plants. Both activities were led by the Scarborough Land Trust.

Salisbury, North Carolina: Volunteers pick up trash in Finch Park in Lexington. Some helped on land and water to clean up the Kevin Loftin Riverfront Park in Belmont under the leadership of the Catawba Riverkeeper. For those looking to dry off their shoes, a clean-up was also held at Kelsey Scott Park, Salisbury’s 21-hectare park approved by RBS.

Landover, MarylandIn partnership with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, RBS volunteers picked up trash along the Cabin Branch Creek tributary.

Chicago, IllinoisRBS Associates participated in the North Avenue Beach Beach Cleanup, one of Chicago’s most popular beaches.

Carlisle, Pennsylvania: Volunteers helped with various gardening tasks at Bridge Bleacher Garden Community Garden, providing affordable fresh fruits and vegetables to local food banks and families, as well as picking up trash and removing invasive plants at Letort Spring Run.
