There’s just something about pizza. Whether it’s a universal crowd-pleaser, great portability, or a magical combination of toppings, cheeses, and sauces, Bottom Line Pizza is a hard-to-beat option for any weeknight.

If you’ve driven down US Highway 12 in Glade recently, you may have noticed a new pizza place opening in a distinctive coffee pot-shaped building at the intersection of Mapleway Road and US 12 near the Greenway. Opened last March by husband and wife team Zack and Laura Childress, Zack’s Zzas offers fast, affordable and delicious pizza to the neighborhood.

Opening a pizza restaurant has been Zach’s dream for years. “My husband and I knew we had a great product, and we wanted to get it to where we live. It was good. We’re growing, and people love what we have to offer.

Although Zack’s Zzas does not have indoor dining, it offers a shaded and comfortable outdoor seating area, takeout, delivery area and a unique drive-thru window.

“We want to serve families and people who work on the go,” says Laura. “Families going out for the day, or mums and dads on their way home from work, can call ahead and pop up at the window. We want them to have a convenient and easy option.”

One of the distinguishing features of Zack’s Zzas is their wide delivery-area radius. From the intersection of US 12 and State Route 410, down the Natchez River to Sela and South Natchez, Glade and Titon, Zach’s offers a long-distance customer with no delivery options.

But let’s get down to business. How was the pizza? In one word: delicious! My family and I placed an order for Sunday evening delivery using their user-friendly online ordering system, and the pizza was delivered to our door hot and well before the estimated delivery time. The half-pepperoni, half-meat lovers who grow their family had enough for a hungry family of five to have leftovers the next day. The crust was crisp with a slight chew, the fingers were fresh, and the cheese was melty perfection.

So what’s next for Zach? The owners say they’re looking to offer movie premieres and pay-per-view nightly views from the backyard, expand the menu (Laura’s homemade pineapple upside-down cake is already selling out daily) and do more with the community and local businesses. They partnered with High Country Coffee Company in Cella, which serves Zach’s Pizza by the Slice.

Whether you’re looking for a delicious pizza for takeout or delivery, or simply a quick slice at the drive-thru window, Zack’s Zzas is a great new option for pizza lovers in the Valley. Zack’s Zzas is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 3120 Mapleway Road.
