Renovations have begun at two interchanges on the West Virginia Turnpike.
The state Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that restrooms, food and parking facilities at Beckley and Bluestone plazas in southern West Virginia will remain in place during renovations, which are scheduled to last through the end of 2024.

Tamarack Mall, located adjacent to Beckley’s Travel Plaza, will remain open. Tamarac’s hours will be extended starting April 1. The facility will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. It was previously open six days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A new store in Tamarac will offer food, beverages and auto accessories. For travelers, the department in a news release.
The renovated travel plazas offer additional food options, an afternoon convenience store and outdoor dining options. It will also have expanded parking, electric vehicle charging stations, a variety of vehicle and tractor trailer fueling options, picnic and pet areas, the release said.
