We’re excited to announce that Rachel Tashjian is joining The Washington Post as a fashion writer for Style.
Rachel was most recently Director of Fashion News at Harper’s Bazaar, where she profiled leading designers such as Miuccia Prada and Dior Maria Grazia Chiri, and was nominated for an ASME Award for Review and Criticism.
Previously GQ’s premiere fashion critic, writing about everything from the evolution of streetwear to the Bidens’ fashion diplomacy, the Trump administration and the British royal family, Anna Delvey revealed she used a stylist during a high-profile court case. Prior to that, Rachel was Deputy Editor of Garage Magazine. She has written for Artforum, Bookforum, and New York Magazine, and is the creator of Opult Tips, an “invitation-only” newsletter offering fashion and shopping advice that has been featured in the New York Times, Financial Times, New York Magazine, and more. Useless fair. Rachel is excited to join the Post to build on her legacy of fashion writing and explore the meaning of clothing through the lens of politics, social media and pop culture.
Rachel graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in English and Art History. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and her dachshund, Ritz.
