If you’re a shoe company and haven’t entered the Metaverse, you’re ten steps behind. Between Nike’s creative partnership with RTFKT and Adidas’ release with Prada, the space is seeing rapid growth, and now PUMA It is next. German sportswear brand Black has announced Site – the first Metavas website experience.

A digital initiative offering exclusive NFTs as part of the ‘FUTROGRADE’ show that opened at New York Fashion Week. The immersive and interactive site allows consumers to dive into the future of PUMA and experience Web3 activities throughout the year and beyond.

“Twenty years ago, Black Station was PUMA’s home for the most innovative designs in fashion,” said Adam Petrick, PUMA’s Chief Brand Officer. Considering the boundaries we are pushing from a product design and digital perspective, we felt it was appropriate to bring Black Station as a new digital browsing portal.
In fashion, sports performance, our heritage classics and innovation.

Beginning on September 7th, the first two Black Site entries will feature the never-before-seen Nitro NFRNO and Nitro Fastroid sneakers linked to PUMA’s NFT NitroPass Mint. Owners who redeem NitroPass have access to NFTs – a customized experience that matches physical products and is linked to the shoes of their choice. Once the Futuregrade shoe is finished, miners will be allowed to earn their physical stake by burning NFTs that claim their product. “Our team of designers took a lot of liberties when envisioning these shoe styles. We told them the sky’s the limit. As a result, we were able to use their creativity outside of the usual constraints and limitations of our shoe manufacturing process,” said Heiko Desens, Global Creative Director and Head of Innovation. It’s about being able to work with development to bring amazing designs to life.”
