FRISCO, COLO, August 23, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Project Bike Tech is gearing up for the new school year and beyond – or hitting the pedals. In late July, PBT held the first meeting of what will be a joint strategy session for the board of directors and an annual training seminar for both new and existing faculty.

“I think everyone who took part in the training really valued their time there and went away prepared to tackle the new school year,” he said. Mercedes RossExecutive Director of Project Bike Tech. “It was a great opportunity for our veteran teachers to refresh and for our incoming teachers to get involved in our practices and procedures. It was also a great opportunity for our board members to adjust our strategies moving forward. Everyone enjoyed themselves. We spent three days together and teachers and Project Bike Tech staff prepared teachers and staff for years to come.” It allowed them to form new and meaningful relationships that helped.
This first annual teachers’ workshop was held in 2011 Boulder, COAnd he used Boulder High School’s lab—Boulder High is now Project Bike Tech’s school. Teachers reviewed the revised Level-1 curriculum, received practical training related to teaching courses and had time to ask questions of industry experts and interact with teachers.
“The aim is to provide training each summer to new teachers entering the program and teachers who want to tackle the Level-2 curriculum to help them prepare for the coming school year,” Ms Ross said. “The Quality Bicycle Products Training School would like to thank professional mechanics Jeff and Ryan from the U of K Institute for bringing their world-class training methods to the workshop for hands-on instruction.”
Project Bike Tech uses bicycles and bicycle mechanics as a vehicle to educate key scholars, improve lives, create career opportunities and inspire new generations to fall in love with cycling. The only program in the country, Bike Tech is an accredited high school elective that teaches key academic concepts in school, provides a plug for multiple careers, and encourages lifelong involvement with the outdoor recreation industry. The second annual training weekend will be held in July 2023.
