Best red carpet fashion at the 2023 Critics’ Choice Awards
From Michelle Yeoh to Lily James, see the best-dressed celebrities at the 28th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
In a low-fashion night, many attendees opted for black dresses — but there were plenty of eye-catching looks in between, from Quanta Brunson’s sculpted Robert Won gown to Angela Bassett’s stunning Christian Siriano design.
Elsewhere, metallics and sequins have gained popularity. “White Lotus” actor Aubrey Plaza wowed in a colorful Louis Vuitton gown with colorful dégradé accents, while “Female King” star Soso Mbedu wore gold, silver and bronze embellishments and the French label. Nominees Amanda Seyfried and Sheryl Lee Ralph of “Abbott Elementary” both chose golden gowns by Dior and Giovanna Lewis.
In a recent trend on red carpets, Elle Fanning and Janelle Monáe were among the many stars to wear cut-out dresses.
The crowd of the evening embraced a variety of shades, from Andrew Garfield’s camel colored suit to Henry Golding’s black tea suit. Kay Hui Kwan, Billy Eichner and Harry Shum Jr. were among the many attendees in maroon shades, on a night that saw many male guests eschew the usual black-tie dress code.
