Employers need to hire quickly in the Phoenix area to meet the expected demand for Super Bowl week.

“We know it’s going to be big. We know it’s going to be big. It’s going to be a lot more commercial than what we’re used to,” said Rebecca Goldman, who runs Artisan in Santa Barbara, the catering arm of Farm At. South Mountain.

According to Goldman, they have big-time contracts coming up for Super Bowl week events.

“We have a lot of bookings for Super Bowl week. It’s going to be a very, very busy week,” Goldman said.

Also, WM Phoenix is open between events. That means for Goldman and almost any other business, there are a lot of one-time jobs that need to be filled.

“We have to be ready for that,” said Goldman.

Some of these businesses have reportedly turned to a Phoenix-based app called Qwick to fill the posts.

Qwick works with 1,500 Arizona businesses to simultaneously post freelance jobs to more than 100,000 employees. Retta Kekic said the forum has had its busiest month yet.

“Especially in the next few months, we have shifts left and right,” Kekic said. “If you work a 9 to 5 and are a bartender, jump on the Qwick platform and take shifts that work around your schedule.”

There will be tens of thousands of jobs that need to be filled at once. Anyone can apply to join the app, and Qwick officials will quickly screen the app to make sure the Valley is fully staffed for Super Bowl week.

“That’s the magic of working on a platform like this. You can go on the platform and do just one shift, or you can do a shift every day,” Kekic said.
