Jocelin Angeles, a certified medical assistant, is the newest Team Member of the Month for Pardee UNC Health Care.

Angeles is part of the team at Vascular Surgery at Pardee and works directly with patients and clinicians to provide care from taking a patient’s medical history and vitals to assisting a provider during examinations, according to a news release from Pardee.

Nominated by her fellow team members, Angeles is described as a hardworking team player who goes above and beyond for each patient, colleague and provider.

“She always makes the patients feel like they are the most important person,” a colleague said. “With the complex care these patients need, she always treats each with dignity and compassion.”

Angeles is commended for always stepping in to offer help, even if it’s not required of her. When a coworker was out for an extended period of time, Angeles took it upon herself to help with the extra responsibilities.

“Everyone feels the impact of her compassion, expertise and willingness to help,” her colleague said. Angeles also volunteered her time to coordinate an after-hours cartoid screening event during Stroke Awareness Month, which included organizing the schedule, calling patients, and managing all other event details. “All of our days are much better because Jocelin is part of our team. Pardee is lucky to have such an outstanding team member.”

The Team Member of the Month award is given to a Pardee team member who positively contributes to achieving the organization’s mission, vision and goals. This person is selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their regular duties to support patients, customers, peers, the organization and its community. The Team Member of the Month award showcases the many different roles of keeping a health system, like Pardee, operating and delivering patient-centered, quality care, the release states.
