Nashoba Tech’s March Students, Athletes of the Month

WESTFORD – Nashoba Valley Technical High School has announced its students and athletes of the month for March.

Students of the month are selected based on the school’s “Graduate Photo” characteristics: resourceful, responsible, strong, respectful and prepared.

Alessa Dos Santos, of Chelmsford, daughter of Alexander and Daniel Dos Santos, is a freshman in the Design and Visual Communications program. She is an honor roll student, president of the Culture and Communities Club and a member of the Viking Theater Company and GSA.

Alisa was nominated by Spanish teacher Amy St. Arnaud, who wrote: “Alisa is very engaged and committed to learning Spanish, Portuguese and intercultural skills. For Alyssa, being bilingual and bicultural is fun, exciting, and an important college, career, and international-readiness skill. Alyssa walks the halls of Nashoba Tech with a smile on her face and a spring in her step. She brings a huge amount of energy to the campus and is a friend to everyone. She is starting her career here, and she will make us all proud.

Bethany Lampone of Pepperell, daughter of Jason and Stacey Lampone, is a senior in the Advanced Manufacturing program. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. She is a senior honors student and is on the Advisory Committee for Advanced Manufacturing.

Bethany works in quality control at Keystone Precision & Engineering in Pepperell through the school’s co-op education program, and plans to continue working there after graduation.

Bethany was nominated by Outstanding Manufacturing Teacher Scott Keeler, who wrote, “Bethany has always been a hard worker since freshman year, always setting high goals for herself, and once she achieves them, she sets new goals. She is known for being one of the most respectful and grateful students among her teachers, as well as a kind and considerate classmate. She is always the first to lend a hand to her classmates, whether it be in school work or friendship.

The best athletes of the month

Alyssa Felix, daughter of Shirley, John and Lisa Felix, is senior captain of the softball team, playing second base for the Vikings, and she also leads the winter cheerleading squad. She is an honor roll student in the early childhood care program and as a junior at Nashoba Tech, she scored high on the International Nanny Association certification exam. Alyssa has been accepted to Worcester State University to study elementary education.

Chris Ferreira’s son Andrew Ferreira of Chelmsford is a junior center fielder for the baseball team. He also plays football for the Vikings. Andrew is in an advanced manufacturing program. He plans to graduate and join the Air Force.
