MTV VMAs 2022 Fashion Looks: Photos, Details – WWD

The 2022 MTV VMAs had no shortage of standout fashion looks.

Many of today’s biggest musicians gathered at the annual awards ceremony on Sunday night to celebrate their favorite music videos of the year. Taylor Swift, who won three awards for her short film “All Right,” made a surprise appearance at the MTV VMAs, followed by a surprise announcement that her next album will be released this October, “Midnights.”

K-pop girl group Blackpink made their American awards debut at the MTV VMAs, with each member impressing with their own high fashion looks. The group performed their new song “Pink Venom” during the awards show.

Black rose

K-pop girl group BLACKPINK performed their new song “Pink Venom” at their US awards show at the 2022 MTV VMAs. The four-member group each had their own fashion moments with looks from Celine, Dior, Chanel and Saint Laurent.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift took home three awards at the MTV VMAs for her short film “All Right,” from the re-released version of her “Red” album. She also made a surprise announcement that she will be releasing her album “Midnights” next October. For her VMAs appearance, Swift wore a crystal-embellished Oscar de la Renta gown from the designer’s House Resort 2023 collection.

Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X went with an avant-garde look for the 2022 MTV VMAs, wearing a flowy Demi Couture ensemble from Harris Reid’s “60 Years of Queen.” The rapper’s look consisted of a black, feathered, tiered skirt and headpiece worn with black pants.

Lizo

Lizzo made her latest appearance at the VMAs in navy blue Glen Martens from the design house’s Spring 2022 couture collection for Jean Paul Gaultier. The musician accessorized the look with gold hoop earrings, cuffs and rings from Jennifer Fisher.

The light of the moon

Italian alternative group Matching Gucci was dressed for the VMAs, frontman Damiano David wearing a black tulle Gucci Resort 2023 collection, paired with a crystal-embellished cape and satin flare pants; bassist Victoria De Angelis wearing a Gucci Resort 2023 one-shoulder black jersey embroidered top paired with black culottes; Guitarist Thomas Raggi wore a Gucci Fall 2022 ready-to-wear black and silver sequin checkered suit, and drummer Ethan Torchio wore a custom Gucci black tulle bustier top paired with black pants.

Anita

Brazilian singer Anita makes her appearance at the 2022 MTV VMAs, wearing a Shiaparelli fall 2022 couture gown with an asymmetrical red silk corset paired with a red velvet maxiskirt.

Conan Gray

Musician Conan Gray went with an ethereal Harris Reid look for the VMAs, wearing a white tulle-embellished cropped blazer and black flared pants.

Chloe Bailey

Chloe Bailey went the custom route for the VMAs, wearing a Ziegmann silver sequin dress with a plunging neckline, sheer cutouts and a thigh-high slit.
