MineBiz is scheduled to host the MineBiz Small Business Forum, an in-person event focused on helping startups and small businesses grow and succeed, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Westin Portland Harborview Hotel, 157 High St., Portland.
Each year, a panel of small business owners and entrepreneurs examines the various challenges facing small businesses and startups. The goal is to help companies solve and resolve complex issues, according to a news release from the Portland-based business news source.
This year’s topic is Exploring Maine’s Labor Shortage: How to Recruit and Retain Great Workers While Maintaining a Strong Workplace Culture. Hear their personal experiences and perspectives as they discuss hiring, retaining and maintaining a strong workplace culture.
Panelists will include Mark Adams, president and CEO of Sebago Techniques; Maine Community College System Chief Workforce Development Officer Dan Bea; Becky McKinnell, Founder/CEO of iBec Innovation; and Lisa Socbasin, Associate CEO of Wabanaki Public Health and Safety.
Tae Chong, founder of Tae Chong Consulting and director of multicultural markets and strategy for the Maine State Chamber, will moderate.
