At Art Basel Miami, Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) announced that the CFDA will be the first globally recognized fashion week to participate in Metaverse Fashion Week 2023, held this spring from March 28-31, 2023.
Earlier this year, The Metaverse Group built L’Atelier for MIFW, which housed digital experiences, runway shows and art on display at Mimi’s physical Fashion Week shows. MIAFW plans special activations and runway shows on the rooftop of L’Atelier in Decentraland’s Luxury Fashion District.
2023 will be the first year that Metaverse Fashion Week will feature a “physically produced fashion week.”
Hosted by crypto investor and RedDAO founding member Megan Caspar, in addition to MIFW and MVFW, the announcement event took place on Friday, December 2, at Surfclub Four Seasons.
According to Vogue Business, guests include Fashion Group International President Marianne Grice, DRESSX co-founders Natalia Modenova and Daria, Ariani CEO Pierre-Nicolas Harstel, Digital Twins founders Natalie Soto-Wright and Adriana Soto-Wright, Luxo Blockchain founder Marjorie Hernandez. and SYKY founder Alice Delahunt.
MIAFW Creative Director Lourdes Fernández-Velasco said: “We are beyond proud and excited to be the first physical fashion week to participate in MVFW’23 and further our initiatives around the sustainable fashion industry.
Panel discussions
Streamed live on Decentraland’s IG TV and MIAFW’s L’Atelier, the event included three panel discussions about the foundation and future of MVFW:
Redefining ownership and identity Moderated and emceed by UNXD co-founder Nick Gonzalez. TIME magazine President Keith Grossman, founding member Order the DAO Megan Kaspar, and UNXD CEO Shashi Menon as panelists.

Inaugurated earlier this year, the MVFW audience included Elie Saab, D&G, Tommy Hilfiger, Selfridges, Guo Pio, Paco Rabanne and more, hosting more than 165,000 independent wearers, both legacy fashion houses and digital fashion brands.
Metaverse Fashion Week 2023 Topics
MVFW’23 will focus on metaversal interaction and digital fashion. “Heritage of the future‘- a challenge to connect the next generation of creatives and traditional fashion designers.
