One hundred and fifty of the late designer’s clothes are displayed along with the original designs.
“We didn’t want to highlight Carl the man, who has long been a breathless legend of his own bold creativity. Instead, we wanted to focus on Carl the designer and identify what was critical. What set him apart from his peers was the aspect of his design process, namely his practice of drawing,” said curator Andrew Bolton. .
Vogue editor Anna Wintour has hosted the Met Gala for the past 24 years. This year, Lagerfeld is private because she was one of his closest secrets.

Of course, it’s not just a fashion show. It is the largest fundraiser for the Met Costume Institute. The guest list was hand-picked by Anna Wintour. Tickets are around $50,000 per hear.
