The Georgia Tech family,

After seven seasons as the men’s basketball head coach, I announced to Josh Pastner that we are making a change in the leadership of our consistent program.

Josh has been an incredible ambassador for Georgia Tech, treating others with respect above all else and taking his interests into his own hands. His genuine care for our student-athletes, our men’s basketball program, our athletic department and the institute is unquestionable. On behalf of the Georgia Tech community, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Josh, his wife, Kerry, and their family for their service to the institution. We wish you all the best.

We have high expectations for all of our sports programs at Georgia Tech, and it is imperative that men’s basketball achieve a high level of success. Our men’s basketball program is important to our department and institution. We will not hesitate to expect to consistently compete for ACC championships, NCAA tournament berths and lasting success. I am confident that with the combined strength of the Institute and our wonderful supporters, as well as the support of our city, we will be able to achieve our common goals.

The search for a new head men’s basketball coach is underway, and while we are deliberate in our process, we will move as quickly as possible. We are looking for a new head coach who shares our vision and values and can lead our men’s basketball program to the highest level of continued success. In the meantime, Anthony Wilkins, a member of the men’s basketball staff since 2018, will serve as interim head coach.

Thank you for your continued support and jackets!

J Bat.
