What has been your most enjoyable internship at Cadence? The most enjoyable part of my job at Cadence is challenging myself by learning a new language and a new style of programming. The work I’ve done with SystemVerilog and scripting is nothing I’ve ever done before, and it took work to get it right. By the same token, it’s been fun because it means I’m trying new things and working on new skills, especially knowing that it all culminates in a project that can improve the quality of certain Cadence products.
What are your plans after graduation? After graduation, I plan to take some time off from school and work on my software engineering career, once I feel I have enough experience I may move into product management. I’d like to consider pursuing another master’s degree or PhD, but I’d like to at least have the opportunity to explore my options and my feelings about a career in industry before considering academia.
