Lincoln Tech has signed an agreement with Tesla to train the future EV

Parsippany, NJ, August 02, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (NASDAQ: LINC ), a national leader in specialized technical training for more than 75 years, has signed a new agreement with Tesla, the world leader in electric vehicle (EV) production. The Tesla Training Institute will be established at Lincoln Tech’s Denver CO campus as part of a 3-year plan to provide Tesla START training at no cost to students to help develop Tesla’s service technician workforce. Automotive technology graduates from any of Lincoln Tech’s campuses are eligible to apply for this advanced EV training program.

“Entering into this agreement with Tesla reinforces Lincoln Tech’s commitment to providing electric vehicle training for 21.St century automotive technicians,” said Scott Shaw, president and CEO of Lincoln Tech. “It’s the latest development in our EV training programs, and having Tesla’s support and resources to develop these programs is valuable to our company and our students. We aim to be the premier provider of EV automotive technology training,” added Shaw.

Students accepted into the 16-week program receive an hourly rate while they train. The Tesla Training Facility occupies approximately 6,000 square feet of space on Lincoln Tech’s Denver campus. Tesla provides the vehicles, tools, equipment, charging stations and its own instructors to deliver the program. Upon completion of the program, graduates may be hired for positions at Tesla service centers in North America.

Lincoln will provide logistical support for the capstone program, including helping Tesla hire technicians who want to develop their skills on electric vehicle systems to pursue careers with one of the world’s fastest-growing auto brands. Tesla is also considering the possibility of expanding to additional Lincoln campuses as it faces demand for skilled technicians in North America.

The Tesla EV training program is offered to Lincoln Tech graduates from all automotive technology campuses across the country: Denver; Columbia, MD; East Windsor, CT; Grand Prairie, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Mahwah and Union, NJ; Melrose Park, IL; Nashville, TN; Philadelphia, PA; and Queens, NY Overall, the U.S. Department of Labor projects more than 690,000 openings for skilled auto technicians nationwide by 2030*.
