Pulling double duty this season, Kim Jones has stepped up Fendi’s presence for fashion month – first showing the Fendi Resort collection at New York Fashion Week and now unveiling new designs for the house’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection in Milan.
On the NYFW runway (designed with Silvia Venturini, Marc Jacobs, Porter, Tiffany & Co. and Sarah Jessica Parker), Jones created this SS23 collection with a soft approach and a simple palette, using green in various shades and textures.
Classic creations like rich satin and sheer chiffon are back, along with blush silk, sheer cotton and soft wool. Green appeared as a dominant color in neon (floral appliqué, knee-high boots and shift dresses), olive (tulle tunics, zip-front pleats and handbags) and muse (draping trousers and shoulder bags) throughout the collection. .
Adding to the color spectrum of the collection, Jones also used punchy primary colors like pink and true blue to tackle the 60+ runway shows.
Moreover, with a strong focus on footwear and spring accessories, the house introduced several new trend options for women, including layered heeled slides with an open toe, over-the-knee ankle boots, platform sneakers and a top hair bag with embroidered logo ribbon detailing.
