Jennifer Lopez’s holiday-themed special was her first Christmas as Mrs. Affleck.
In her latest issue of J.Lo Magazine, the superstar opened up about the extravagant parties she and her husband threw at their Hollywood home. The weekend before Christmas, the Afflecks welcomed a star-studded guest list to their lavish home, which the “Waiting For Tonight” singer centered around a hummingbird theme.
“I like to create a theme for each holiday,” Multi-Hyphenate wrote before explaining the importance of the theme. “I wrote a song called Hummingbird for my new album. This is me… now. To me, hummingbirds are messengers of love. They are very agile—they can fly forward, backward, and up and down. They are the fastest birds but they always have time to stop to eat something sweet and smell the roses. I keep in touch with them, but more than anything, whenever I see one, I feel it’s a sign from God that all is well.
“So I decided hummingbirds would be the best theme this year,” she continued. “We have united the family, doubled the happiness of the people, doubled the love, doubled the gifts, tripled the chaos!!”
The star rocked a Gucci metallic gown embellished with gold, silver and green hummingbirds in her look for the festive evening. The piece features a mock neck, a cropped waist and long printed sleeves with unique cuffs. She accessorized her glamorous dress with chandelier earrings and wore her hair in a bun.
“I also chose hummingbird colors for my holiday party outfit this year. A Gucci dress that I bought a year ago and have been sitting in my closet waiting for the perfect occasion to wear. For the hummingbird Christmas party,” she wrote.
of Hustlers The actress shared several pictures of her home decor, including a tree in the background. “I wanted to have a hummingbird tree at home, reminding me that what is done with love and affection is always safe,” she wrote.
In one picture, which she also shared on Instagram, the star wears a holiday turtleneck printed with red bows against a turquoise-blue background by a tree. She paired the dress with sparkly red platform heels and large white-gold flower earrings. As for her beauty look, the star wore her hair slicked back and dark red lips.
The JLo Beauty founder shared that she and her blended family are returning to pre-pandemic holiday traditions.
“For the past 8 years we’ve been doing a Christmas edition of Taco Tuesday, where we get together and sing Christmas carols,” she wrote. “This is the first time in a long time that we have been able to meet people we haven’t seen in forever. The party was full of family, friends, colleagues and people we’ve known for years. We sang and danced and had an amazing time!”
