Janet Jackson graces Harlem Fashion Row x LVMH as Fashion Week kicks off – VIBE.com

Harlem Fashion Row, in partnership with LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, kicked off New York Fashion Week 2022 on Tuesday (September 6) with the 15th Annual Fashion Show and Style Awards. Held at the General Grant National Memorial in Harlem, the spring 2023 show celebrated black fashion designers including Jonathan Hayden, Nicole Benefield and Clarence Root.

Style awards have been handed out, including the first ever Virgil Abloh Award for Issa Ra. ICON of the year was accepted by Janet Jackson. Robin Givhan was also named Editor of the Year, Ade Samuel was named Stylist of the Year, and Sergio Hudson was named Designer of the Year.

After the event, guests headed to an afterparty hosted by Jazz at Lincoln Center in collaboration with Moët Hennessy USA and sponsor Amazon. During the event, guests enjoyed live music from Harlem Cameron, sponsored by Amazon Music.

“It was amazing to see the art of Black and Latinx designers and creators beautifully showcased at the intersection of diversity and creativity,” said Modupe’ Conglenton, Global Amazon Stores, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, in a press release. “We are continually excited to engage with communities to celebrate the culture and talent within the Amazon.”
