James Long from WVU-Tech will serve as COO of Court XIV

Morganton, W. V. – James Long leads the Golden Bears after three seasons as head coach of the WVU-Tech men’s basketball program. Long received the court’s chief operating officer XIV and the general manager of the Carolina Factory in Cornelius, NC.

Long led the Golden Bears to a 62-21 overall record after three seasons, including the River State Conference Championship. In his first season, he was named Coach of the Rivers State Conference of the Year. He led WVU Tech to a series of conference titles and led the Golden Bears to three NAIA national championship games.

Court XIV 24 is a basketball development company that is proud of its current NBA players and more than 300 college players among its former students.

“Thanks to Kenny Howell and President Long. You guys took a chance on a 26-year-old and changed my life forever. I hope you all feel that I have done my best every day on the campus. I truly believe I can never work for a better AD and president. All my time here has been nothing but constant support. James Long I am more than thankful to both of you on social media.

George Wilmore became head coach of the Golden Bears. Wilmore has previously served as an assistant coach in the state of Fremont.

“We are saddened to see James leave because he is a strong member of our campus community and a good coach. We know that he and our team will have great success under the leadership of coach Wilmore.

Long will remain the best Virginia head coach of the WVU alumni team at the end of this month. Best Virginia will host WVU-Tech on July 16 at Fremont State University.
