The hospital will build a space modeled after the flagship Innovation Technology Center at the Texas Medical Center to showcase the latest healthcare innovation.

Expected to open later this year, the Tech Hub at Ion will occupy approximately 1,200 square feet of space that will initially be used for informational and educational programs, networking with other tenants and entrepreneurs, on-site mentoring and pitch competitions. , and hosting open houses for the community to see how Houston Methodist is shaping the future of patient-centered healthcare.
Houston Methodist’s presence at Ion will advance its vision for greater collaboration across industries, joining the aerospace, energy and oil and gas companies included in the innovation center. Through the partnership, the hospital will expand the Innovation Center and Technology Center, which opened in early 2020, to experience the latest innovations in patient-centered healthcare technology, including remote monitoring, location information. and virtual reality. Houston Methodist and Rice are collaborating on a Center for Translational Neural Prostheses and Interfaces to bring together scientists, clinicians, engineers and surgeons to solve clinical problems with neurorobotics.
