Sometimes I feel it For Carmen San Diego, everyone always asks her where in the world she is. such as Seattle Met‘s travel editor, I relate; Almost every day someone asks, “Where are you going next?” Sometimes the answer is like bush camping in Zimbabwe, or scavenger hunts through the malls of Vancouver, or my favorite, the Cascade Mountains. Luckily, there’s nothing I love more than talking about travel, especially in our country of the Pacific Northwest.

that’s why Seattle Met Travel Magazine has decided to launch PNWander. Every two weeks, I’ll share where I’m going in the world and, more importantly, where I’m thinking of traveling right now. For our latest travel stories and maybe even more to come from our sister publications, Portland Monthly. I also update readers on current affairs related to travel and outdoor recreation in the region.

The Pacific Northwest is wild—and I don’t mean wildlife. This corner of America is so diverse that you can hit a beautiful ocean beach and a tropical rainforest in the same day. We have a world-class wine region and hundreds of kilometers of spectacular river gorges; Plus cities like Vancouver and Portland to explore. We hike, run, hike, climb, kitesurf and ride horses and sometimes fly to more than 100 non-stop destinations. In short, we have a lot to talk about.

Join me for regular travel help (you can sign up here) and also for our Nosh Pit newsletter Seattle Met Food guru Alessia Vermillion takes a weekly deep dive into Seattle’s vibrant food and dining scene. And be sure to send it by email [email protected] to share your own travel plans or interests; I want to know where it is in the world you are Going next.
