I finally found a piece that didn’t move when I was moving on the beach.

As a travel editor, I have one rule when it comes to packing: Always bring a swimsuit. It doesn’t matter if I go to Switzerland in winter or Greece in summer – there is a bathing suit in my bag.

I brought my best-selling one-piece to Greece last year after seeing it on social media and hearing how highly rated it was (some call it the “swimwear unicorn”). Made from stretchy yet dense recycled polyamide and elastane, this one-shoulder one-piece does the trick with diagonal seams. Even in the Aegean air I felt supported and safe. Plus, it was flattering (hello, clear criteria) that accentuated my curves while still being cinched in all the right places but maintaining full coverage in the back. It held up well when swimming, walking on the beach and jumping into the water – and it dried quickly.
The one-shoulder style made me feel like a Greek god, almost made for this trip. A big bonus of the one-shoulder look is that I can slip my white linen pants over it in one piece and have a complete look – no need to add a shirt or layer over it. I love that the Summersalt Sidestroke also has chest support without the need for a cup or pad, which I find looks unnatural and calls out when wet.
