Hunter Biden has met with his father at least 30 times at the White House or the vice president’s residence, often days after returning home from an overseas business trip.
In the year The breakfasts, lunches and other gabafests between 2008 and 2016 raise questions about whether Hunter was conveying messages to his father on behalf of foreign clients, and the president’s repeated denials that he had no role in his son’s shadowy overseas business.
The meetings were found based on a review of a personal calendar on a laptop left behind by Hunter Biden.
Eric Schwerin of Hunter Biden’s investment firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners, was named as the recipient of a calendar invitation to 21 of the listed meetings, with a green check repeatedly indicating that he had received an invitation to a meeting with the vice president. Schwerin was a longtime business confidant of Hunter Biden, and had access to the elder Biden’s personal financial information.
In the year GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik — who has vowed to call Hunter Biden if Republicans win control of Congress in the 2022 midterm elections — said it was more evidence of corruption.
“Another revelation about how involved Joe Biden was with his son Hunter Biden’s corrupt foreign trade business will be a day away. The fact that Joe is in meetings with top foreign leaders on behalf of Hunter and his business partners further proves that Joe is lying to the American people on behalf of the vice president, Stefanik told the Post.

Hunter Biden often clings to his father within days or minutes after high-profile meetings.
The calendar shows that Hunter Biden met with Ivory Coast Prime Minister Daniel Cablan Duncan in Washington, DC on April 15, 2016. He sat down at 8:15 a.m. and had a quick 9:00 a.m. meeting with Vice President Biden at the Naval Observatory. The purpose of his meeting with Kaplan is unclear.
In the year Between February 15-18, 2012, Hunter Biden was wined and dined in Moscow by billionaire oligarchs, including one now wanted for murder. Four days after his return, Hunter Biden met again with Vice President Biden at the Naval Observatory.
In the year November 14. 2015 Hunter Biden meets Romanian Ambassador to the United States, George Maior, before going to that country for a meeting. He returned on November 17 and two days later had breakfast with his father at the Naval Observatory. A few months after his trip, he teamed up with former FBI Director Louis Freeh to help Romanian businessman Gabriel Popovicu avoid prison time.
In another royal connection, Yugoslavia’s crown prince told the Post he hoped Hunter would put in a good word for his father about possible help renovating the royal palace in Belgrade.
Colombia
March 2, 2012 Introductory note A meeting with Joe Biden and former Colombian president Andres Pastrana Arango, whose business Hunter had been studying for months, showed emails on his laptop.
For more than a year before meeting with Joe Biden and Pastrana, Hunter and his Rosemont Seneca business partners had been pursuing the business of OAS, a Brazilian construction company interested in Colombia, which later involved paying bribes and rigging public contracts.
In the year In a February 7, 2011 email to Hunter Biden, his partner, Mike Muldoon, said a third member of the company pays OAS “20k/month…to participate” and a 5% success fee.
In the year In a July 2011 email to Hunter, Schwerin named “a list of projects that OAS is interested in in Colombia,” adding that they should “discuss and see how we can be relevant.” Among the projects are two wastewater treatment plants worth $380 million and $350 million. It had a $1.8 billion hydroelectric power plant, and a $3 billion upgrade to Bogotá’s subway system.
“If it works, we’ll all be rich,” Schwerin urged Hunter Biden in an August 2011 email. A formal contract with OAS was signed a month later and was sent to Hunter via email on September 8, 2011 from OAS Project Finance Manager Fabio Tosta Gadelha Souza.
Emails show that the owner of the company was on $25,000 a month with Hunter Biden’s investment firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners. Other emails between Hunter and Rosemont President Eric Schwerin described a potential bonus from the OAS if the Colombia accords were passed. Schwerin estimates the 1% “success fee” for their share of the billion-dollar project at $5.6 million.
A few months later, Hunter traveled to Bogota, where he dined with Pastrana on November 2, 2011. Emails embedded on a hard drive shared the food of the country’s Minister of Mines and Energy, Mauricio Cárdenas Santamaría. That same day, Hunter met Catalina Crane Arango, adviser to Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, according to the calendar.
As the months passed, the courtship continued, the emails show.
“Dear Honorable President. I look forward to seeing you when you are in Washington. I was hoping to meet for lunch or coffee depending on your schedule… First I would like to discuss the possibility that I think you have been briefed on the OAS. My Dad’s Program”
Pastrana met Joe Biden a month later. Schwerin was listed on the “Meet the President” invitation. Pastrana and Aba in NavObs” referring to naval observers. That same day, Hunter had lunch with Pastrana at Cafe Milano. He was joined by Juan Esteban Orduz, former president of the Colombian Coffee Federation Inc.
Pastrana seems eager to tap into Hunter Biden’s network: Other calendar entries show Hunter has arranged meetings with Pastrana, Nigerian businessman Kase Luqman Lawal and International OAS Chairman Cesar Uzeda.
Pastrana and Joe Biden have had a long relationship, with the former Colombian leader calling out Biden in 2015. The photo of the two shared on Twitter when he won the 2020 presidential election is proof. The event will feature Pastrana and Joe Biden, along with Biden’s former Senate colleague, Jesse Helm (R-North Carolina). In a statement, Pastrana called Biden “a great friend and intellectual of our country.”
Santiago Pastrana, the former president’s son, told the Post, “My father became friends with President Biden when they worked together on Plan Colombia when he was president of Colombia and Biden was a senator and chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee.”
Both Pastranas met with Hunter Biden on May 21, 2012 at the DC Westin Hotel.
“The conversation revolved around my father’s admiration for VP Biden at the time and his support for Colombia,” Santiago Pastrana said.
Colombia’s infrastructure projects were eventually built, but it’s unclear whether the OAS won any related contracts or if Hunter Biden and his business partners pocketed the “success” bonuses.
